MSK requires all new hires, volunteers, and vendors who come onsite to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. This is based on the COVID-19 vaccines' high level of protection and our shared responsibility in protecting our patients.
Beginning on February 21, 2022, MSK will require all new hires, volunteers, and vendors who come onsite to provide proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination series + booster (once eligible). Individuals currently eligible for a COVID-19 booster must get their booster, or have an approved exemption as a condition of employment at MSK. Individuals can get their COVID-19 booster 5 months after receiving their second dose of either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, or 2 months after the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Individuals who are not yet eligible for a booster must meet this criteria within 30 days of becoming eligible.
Job Description
Are you interested in playing a key role in integrating optimal protocol activation functioning for clinical research?
At MSK, we're running one of the largest clinical trials programs for cancer in the country, and at any time we are conducting hundreds of clinical trials to improve cancer care. Our Protocol Activation Core was created in January 2018. We are a centralized team handling protocol activation, protocol review and Human Research Protection for all clinical trials at MSK. We are seeking a Protocol Activation Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead protocol activation initiatives to extract and analyze related data, design and build reports and reporting tools, and other end-user information portals or resources.
You Will:

  • With some supervision, meets with project sponsors and stakeholders to understand business need and context for data requirements
  • Consults and understands business needs and transforms business questions into data-driven, analytical questions to clarify, quantify, or further support business needs
  • Gathers information and data from disparate teams, groups, sources, and systems to obtain necessary details to support the Team's initiatives.
  • Independently queries, manages, and performs quality assurance on data related to analyses.
  • Identifies and documents anomalies and discrepancies in data or data relationships found during analysis.
  • Creates presentations, reports, dashboards, and other communication tools to keep institutional leaders and stakeholders abreast of project status or to support their work product.
  • Reviews operational and financial processes to supplement and contextualize data analyses.
  • Presents results of analysis performed to a wide variety of differing audiences, translating technical and detailed data into action plans and/or recommendations
  • Works collaboratively with other data analysts, project managers, and process engineers, reviewing work and contemplating ideas.
  • Manages cross functional relationships to navigate disparate and complex data sets.
  • Initiates and maintains continual dialogue with internal stakeholders regarding project scope/details, directions, tasks, timeline - ensuring all parties are on the same page.
  • Provides clear, concise, and comprehensive verbal and written communication to internal MSKCC stakeholders including senior leadership, administrative management, physician leaders and staff.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of management, hospital administration and creates executive level dashboards to simplify conclusions around complex data sets.

You Have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field or 2 years working in a Data Analyst role (required).
  • 2 years demonstrated data extraction experience working with Structured Query Language (SQL) (required)
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, R or similar with a focus in visualization (preferred)
  • 2-4 years of clinical research or other health related industry experience (preferred)
  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field (preferred)
