Senior Software Engineer – Search and Discovery

At AlphaSights, we search through more than 500 million professionals working in the world today to find the small handful of experts qualified to answer our clients' needs. They use these insights to drive amazing progress within their organizations. Our mission is to provide access to dispersed, hidden, and underutilized knowledge. We’ve made terrific progress working in this new space, but there is still an incredible amount to do. We’ve only just scratched the surface on how we can apply technology to this problem. You'll work closely with a variety of people in the business to arrive at the best solution, immediately see the impact of your work, and get feedback directly from users.

We're looking for people who are interested in building software systems to an incredibly high standard, comfortable working across multiple languages, and learn quickly when new technologies are introduced.

You will:

- Develop innovative search interfaces that make data discovery smarter, faster and more efficient

- Research and build software-based products/technologies to improve search functions, discovery processes and perform predictive analyses

- Leverage Machine Learning, Statistical Modeling, and Natural Language Processing to detect and analyze patterns in very large datasets

- Contribute to the software development lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, installation and support 

You might be a fit if you:

- Have a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field

- Have two years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role

- Have two years of experience developing data ingestion systems, big data services and data visualization tools

- Have two years of experience developing search interfaces and collaborative data tools

- Have two years of experience with Ruby on Rails, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL DB, Spring Boot, Ember JS, Rabbit MQ, Docker, GraphQL and Kubernetes

- Have experience with agile development methodologies and unit and integration testing
