We are rapidly growing and looking to add a Senior Data Analyst to our Assurance Team. As Mulberry’s first dedicated hire reporting to the Head of Assurance, you’ll play an instrumental role in helping us become the de facto source for assurance for online purchases through your work on protection plan products and service contracts. You will have lots of opportunities to grow quickly within our expanding company, demonstrating your past experience and building out valuable new skill sets.

About the Role:

Working within the Assurance team, you will be working on protection plan products, service contracts and personal equipment insurance with the product and/or finance teams to support versatile pricing work, analytics/modeling, report building and data interface, and making reserve estimates. Your work will directly impact our revenue growth by expediting the sales and retailer onboarding cycles. One of the most important aspects of this role is to be a close partner to the Sales, BD, Partner Success, and CX teams where you will have the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally and learn new things.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Run and review rate indications
  • Develop rating proposals through working with the Product team
  • Support premium raters, and the rating validation & testing process
  • Extract/review data quality and help build databases relevant to protection products
  • Produce state rate filings and respond to department inquiries and objections
  • Work closely with the accounting and finance teams to support all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting needs
  • Apply and improve reserving methods
  • Work with analytics / modeling to interpret and apply research
  • Assist in the development of product and pricing strategies
  • Work extensively with the claims team to obtain updated loss information
  • Build / enhance reports and assist in developing product and/or actuarial reports
  • Respond to various ad hoc requests and special projects as they arise

What We’re Seeking:

  • BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area
  • 4+ years of experience in a related industry
  • A proven track record in pricing/reserving, protection products/service contract experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel required. SQL, R, or other similar programming languages preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of delivering on time-sensitive projects for senior stakeholders
  • Creative thinker with ability to work independently, multi-task and manage time effectively under tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to collect, manipulate, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information to a wide range of audiences
