How Does This Position Help VTS Succeed?


The Data Engineering team at VTS enables our business users to gain actionable insights and deliver client value through a combination of data science and analysis. We maintain secure, reliable, and performant data warehouses and pipelines, as well as provide tools to our internal teams so that they can best support our clients. 


We are looking for an experienced leader to join our Data Engineering team to help us transform, analyze, and understand the usage of our growing product portfolio, create insights from a unique industry data set, and make the delivery of data fast as well as secure. The Data Engineering team is at the forefront of VTS’ business operations and client services; the organization’s success depends on this team’s delivery of timely and relevant data platform improvements.

  • As a Data Engineer at VTS, you will have the opportunity to build and maintain critical data that enables VTS to make data-driven decisions; optimize and automate data processes; and embrace VTS Values
  • You will partner with stakeholders to discover and define core data domains for VTS
  • You will build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure and tooling that supports our data platform
  • You will design data pipelines that transform transactional data into dimensional models
  • You will work with and help to introduce cutting edge technologies and best practices
  • You will champion the practices and processes that ensure data is trustworthy, useful, and secure

What Makes You a Great Fit?

  • You are an experienced SQL developer with 3+ years of experience in data engineering projects and are proficient in a general-purpose programming language like Python
  • You love learning about and working with new tools and technologies, and sharing your knowledge with the team
  • You are excited to discover and understand new data sets, structure data pipelines, set up data tests, and work with modern and emerging technologies
  • You have empathy for business analysts discovering new insights and data scientists building machine learning models
  • You evangelize data as a product and continually seek to understand how it is used and how to improve it
  • You are collaborative and enjoy working in a team

You Have Experience or Interest In...

  • Building infrastructure as code, and automating anything and everything that could be done by hand
  • Increasing discoverability of data and upleveling internal users’ data competencies
  • Securing and governing access to sensitive data
  • Configuring Snowflake and other data platform tools
  • Working in an enterprise quality AWS environment
  • Understanding the commercial real estate space, the data it contains, and the insights it can provide
