About the Role:
Fubo Sportsbook is looking for an exceptional database administrator with a passion for optimizing storage, performance and reliability of modern databases.
As a Senior DBA on our Sportsbook engineering team, you will get to work with a very talented team of engineers who ensure that our systems run as efficiently as possible and you will get to contribute to that with your talent. You will be the go-to person for all things related to the databases including, but not limited to query performance, resource allocation, backup and recovery, replication and so on.
Fubo DBAs have the following responsibilities:

• Configure, administer and maintain all new and existing databases residing in our dedicated data centers and in the cloud
• Design and build solutions to standardize and automate the deployment and maintenance of our database platforms
• Serve as a reliable and authoritative SME to application development teams in RDBMS functionality by assisting in decision making around data modeling, table partitioning, query optimization, etc.
• Proactively identify issues and concerns from a database design perspective to ensure they are considered and addressed as early as possible
• Design and optimize database administration tasks including configuration management, backup/recovery, performance tuning, monitoring and space management
• Coordinate and participate in database stress testing and make recommendations for improvements
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems across various database systems
• Provide 24x7 production support through on-call rotation

Minimum qualifications:

• 5+ years experience administering relational databases in production, including PostgreSQL
• Deep knowledge of RDBMS technologies in general and PostgreSQL specifically
• Demonstrated proficiency in administering databases in a both on-premise and cloud environments
• Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills required
• Must be able to improve SQL performance results through the use of query execution plans and other optimization tools
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins) & container technologies (Docker, CoreOS) is a plus
