Job Description
This position will be responsible for supporting and maintaining mission critical, high availability database applications that operate in a 24/7 NBC Sports environment. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented and will collaborate with team members while being resourceful to deliver results with minimal direction.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

• Provide 24x7 support for the NBC Sports application/database server environment
• Work directly with developers and stakeholders to design technology solutions that meet business needs
• Embed with the business to learn/observe current workflows and make recommendations using technology to improve efficiency
• Support NBC Sports ScheduALL application server infrastructure
• Seek out opportunities to migrate applications to AWS and Azure
• Design and develop SharePoint/O365 solutions to meet business needs
• Analyze and tune application performance by optimizing database related items
• Provide application support for NBC Sports custom developed applications
• Configure and support SQL merge replication
• Work in an environment that fosters teamwork and collaboration
• Ensure application and database servers are at latest patch levels and conform to NBCU Cybersecurity requirements
• Monitor NBC Sports database server environments: Backups, performance, alerts, etc.
• Actively monitor the database environment to increase efficiency, improve reliability, and minimize operating expenses
• Disaster recovery planning, design, and testing

Qualifications

• 5+ years, designing and supporting production database server environments
• 3+ years supporting AWS/Azure database/application environments
• 3+ years designing SharePoint and O365 solutions
• Azure/AWS Database Platform experience including Azure SQL Managed Instance, AWS Aurora MySQL
• MSSQL Clustering, Merge Replication, and Database Mirroring
• Strong Microsoft Windows and Linux Server knowledge
• Expert level T-SQL, SQL performance and troubleshooting skills
• Scripting language ability (.NET, Python)
• Application development experience-specifically .NET
• Must be able to meet deadlines, must be a team player
• Must keep up with latest technology offerings

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years, designing and supporting production database server environments
• 5+ years supporting AWS/Azure database/application environments
• SharePoint and O365 expert
• Xytech ScheduALL and MediaPulse experience
• Expert MySQL knowledge
