The Role

You will be the go-to person in the company for the entire databases cluster on prem and cloud.

The DBA role is both infrastructural and applicative and both capabilities are equally required. The role is an important part of the group's success and important in meeting the company's future goals like production stability & growth. You will be required to find the solutions, the ways, and the tools to do that.

What You'll Do

• Manage the company’s day-to-day data and MySQL database operations (maintenance, upgrade, backup).
• Assist in developing our database monitoring strategy for proactive performance, tuning and high availability in a 24x7 production environment
• Work closely with the Application Development team to ensure database changes adhere to best practices. 
• Fine-tune the databases to match application requirements
• Development of automation and supportive processes.
• Investigate, test, and deploy new tools for database management.
• Designing the next generation of our DB cluster

Requirements

• Proficiency with MySQL databases - 8+ years’ experience as MySQL DBA (infrastructure and applications), with experience in production environment.
• 3+ years’ experience with production DB’s on AWS using RDS, EC2 , Lambda , EMR and other AWS services.
• Experience with MYSQL advanced topics like partitioning, replication, multi-level security, clustering, distributed transactions, deadlocks, connectivity, and backups.
• Extensive knowledge of SQL programming and optimization.
• Experience with data migration between on-prem and cloud DB’s.
• Practical experience in working with Cloud Big Data technologies and networks.
• Extensive knowledge of Database and Application performance tuning-
• Strong knowledge of Linux system 
• Scripting in Python and Bash

Nice to Have

• Experience with logging tools and data streaming tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Jenkins and other Devops tools.
• AWS certificates
