Role
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join Candid™ who has a passion for utilizing data to make an impact on customer experience and growth. You will recruit, hire, and mentor engineers across our stack. You and your team will help build out our existing data pipelines, as well as interpret analytics and build reporting tools used by the whole business. You will be responsible for owning the development and maintenance of our pipelines, data analysis, and integration of third-party tools for our marketing, operations, and product teams. You will partner with various teams across the business to help extract meaningful analysis from the data we have collected. You will report directly to our VP of Engineering.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and mentor a squad of data and infrastructure engineers
- Recruit and help grow the engineering team
- Design and manage our data stack using Segment.io, Fivetran, Redshift, Postgres RDS, dbt, Terraform, Docker, Python, and Looker
- Use a wide range of open source tools
- Github-based rapid deployment environment
- Build and manage the architecture that powers Candid™
- Work with operations and data analysts to provide data for every business decision
- Take full ownership of projects from design to implementation and deployment
What You’ll Need
- 3 years minimum experience as an Engineering Manager / Tech Lead
- Cross-functional experience working with all teams throughout an organization
- Fluency in two or more of: SQL, Python, R, Go, Ruby, Scala
- Experience in AWS or other cloud providers solutions for big data, ideally Redshift
- History of running data projects from start to finish
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and processes
- Experience with Redash or Looker a plus
- Proven engineering skills in a consumer-focused business
- Ability to balance iteration speed with quality
