(Sr.) Data Analyst - Marketplace

We are looking for Marketplace Data Analyst candidates of varying experience levels to join SeatGeek's Analytics team. While we're based in New York City, we also have partial and full remote options. You will join a high-performing group of analysts, scientists, and engineers that is the go-to partner on data production and insight generation for SeatGeek's Marketplace team. Your recommendations will shape strategy across key Marketplace functions such as ticket pricing, strategic supply acquisition, and competitor intelligence. You will develop a holistic view of how SeatGeek can leverage its unique position to invest across the ticketing value chain to drive toward our revenue goals. You will develop questions, conduct exploratory analyses, build data models and dashboards, maintain key data pipelines in the data warehouse. Above all, you will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of SeatGeek's ticketing platform and ensuring that understanding is at the heart of our marketplace strategy.

What you'll do
- Monitor key marketplace health and competitiveness metrics. Communicate the root causes of changes in metrics and advance our understanding of drivers of those changes. Communicate key learnings and recommendations to leadership in a manner that positively influences decision making.
- Understand how tickets end up on SeatGeek.com. Work with our Operations teams to improve and speed up their processes using data.
- Support efforts to efficiently incentivize seller behavior that improve overall marketplace liquidity.
- Own our business relationship with stakeholders on the Marketplace team, understanding their objectives and aligning our scope of work to complement and enhance their ability to achieve those goals.
- Work closely with data engineers to build lasting data modelling solutions, including automating analyses and authoring pipelines via SQL-based ETL frameworks.
Who you are
- You have 2+ years of relevant experience. Domain expertise or past experience in pricing, profit management, demand/supply, etc.
- You have a degree or higher in economics, psychology, computer science, statistics, mathematics or another quantitative discipline. Do you have a B.S.? Then you probably have the math foundations.
- You have expert-level knowledge of SQL
- You have experience performing analysis with large datasets
- You have experience building reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools
- You have a track record of influencing business strategy with data
- You have a strong statistical understanding of online testing methodologies and metric development (nice to have)
- You have proficiency in a scripting language like Python or R (nice to have)
- You have experience with a two-sided marketplace (nice to have)
- You have experience with some of our current tools like Looker and/or DBT (nice to have)
