A BIT ABOUT OUR DATA & ANALYTICS TEAM 

The Kinship Data & Analytics team is a multifaceted team with global impact on the Kinship businesses. This team, a mixture of engineering, product insights, and data science associates, will partner with internal and Mars Petcare teams to build a rich understanding of pets and pet-owners and power our business and the Kinship data ecosystem. We are using an evolving, cutting edge tech stack to help us ingest, process, model and democratize data from across the segment to create robust pet-centric views of our clients. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take our our foundational data platform to the next stage, and take the lead in creating new ways for Kinship associates to engage and access our data.

HOW YOU’LL CREATE A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS 

• Manage technical ownership of engineering projects and products across the Kinship ecosystem 
• Steer, design, engineer and implement optimal data pipeline architectures, supporting better understanding of pets and pet owners for our Kinship businesses 
• Take accountability & ownership for technical frameworks, processes and best practices which allow engineers of all levels to build extensible and maintainable solutions 
• Grow cross-team and stakeholder relationships to drive collaboration and meet shared goals 
• Help us evolve Kinship data platform by exploring new methods or technologies, through POCs or related activities 
• Promote and drive DevOps & CI/CD methodologies to work successfully within an agile environment
• Incorporate governance processes and tools into the data landscape to ensure data quality and privacy

For this role, we hope you have the following skills we require to round out our team: 

• At least 6 years of hands-on data engineering/development experience in a cloud/big data environment (e.g.  AWS, GCP, Azure or comparable public cloud) 
• Advanced proficiency with backend technologies with fluency in languages such as Python, SQL, etc. 
• Demonstrated experience in development of full end-to-end data platform projects 
• Energized about working creatively with interesting, innovative data 
• Design of solutions that subscribe to robust and agile technical frameworks and standards 
• Enjoys managing expectations in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment to deliver excellence 
• Able to lead on highly complicated, performant data projects 
• Passion for and/or experience in mentoring and coaching as the team grows 
• Able to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in order to deliver value 
• Interest or experience in running design/brainstorming sessions  
• Flexibility and eagerness to adapt to new software and techniques
