The Role

As a patient-centric healthcare company, we use data to optimize experiences and outcomes for our patients. To do it scientifically with data we trust, we’re looking for a Staff Data Scientist to chart the course of experimentation from event governance to experiment design, from tooling to insight interpretation. This role will work very closely with product, business, engineering partners to define our practice of experimentation. 

What you get to do every day

  • Work with software engineering to provide guidance and guardrails on feature flag and events instrumentation
  • Design Key performance indicators for experiment and automate pipelines and data products to calculate KPIs, partnering with data engineering 
  • Process, cleanse and validate the integrity of data in analysis
  • Design experiments using statistical skill sets, from causal inference to variance reduction, to reduce cost of experiments, while improving solidity of insights 
  • Mine data, interpret results and translates them into layman language to guide business decisions 

What you bring to the role

  • 7+ years of professional experiences in data science, analytics or engineering field, with 3+ years of experiences in experimentation and product analytics of a digital B2C business 
  • Strong Hands-on experiences with web analytics, 3rd party augmentation data, and A/B testing
  • Strong applied statistical skills in experimental design ie. causal inference, hypothesis testing
  • Fluency is common data science toolkit including SQL, Python (or R), and common libraries
  • Experiences with modern data tech stack in pipeline transformation, orchestration, warehousing and intelligence platform 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a can-do attitude 
  • Thoughtful design thinking with excellent communication skills to explain the pros and cons  

Nice to have / Bonus Points

  • Professional Experience as a full-stack software engineer is a Big plus
  • Direct experiences integrating with 3rd party A/B testing or web analytics tools e.g. LaunchDarkly, Segment, Optimizely, Mixpanel is a plus
  • Direct experiences with dbt, Snowflake, Looker is a plus

How we are managing through the COVID pandemic and its impact on our team?

These are unprecedented times and we understand COVID-19 is impacting everyone differently. Our primary goal from the beginning of the pandemic has been to ensure employee safety.
