An Insider's view of Teachers Pay Teachers

What are some social events your company does?

I always look forward to virtual happy hour events with my team. The activity varies month to month, but we always find time to discuss life outside of work. As it turns out, my teammates are just as busy in their free time as they are during the week - busy birdwatching, designing clothes, trying new recipes, and even performing on Broadway.

Micah

Marketplace Integrity Policy Specialist

How does the company support your career growth?

I’ve learned and grown more over the past year at TPT than I have in all my prior work experience combined. TPT’s culture has made me feel valued for what I bring to the table, while also making me feel comfortable to make mistakes and push myself to learn and grow. I’m now working towards career aspirations that I never thought were possible.

Molly

Account Management Lead

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

My team works on the cloud infrastructure that we run all of our applications on, and we’re excited about creating pre-production environments for every pull request a developer opens. Using Kubernetes, we'd create temporary environments that mimic production but are isolated for testing purposes. This empowers our team to build with confidence.

Lucas

Engineering Director

What are some things you learned at the company?

We have Engineering Learning Fridays, where we spend the second half of the day exploring anything we're interested in, from Site Reliability, Web Infrastructure to name a couple. I co-led and took part in a “guild” for Big Data, which was a great experience, and definitely something I had the opportunity to explore outside of my day to day work.

Rakin

Senior Software Engineer
