Data plays an integral role at Harry’s, for example in messaging customers, optimizing acquisition channels, or forecasting demand. The infrastructure and applications that you'll build on the Data Engineering team will power decisions, become multipliers on our revenue and traffic, and help us work more efficiently.
About the Role
As a Staff Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining resilient and scalable data pipelines to support a variety of business stakeholders. You will participate in implementing the architectural components of our data platform, and you will build applications that measure and log all aspects of platform performance and data quality. You will report to the Senior Manager of Data Engineering.
What you’ll do:
- Build data pipelines and 3rd party data integrations.
- Partner with data analysts and business users to measure KPIs and support modeling
- Design, implement and take ownership of tools for measuring and alerting on platform. performance and data quality as we scale our infrastructure.
- Own and execute on stakeholder-facing projects.
Who you are:
- You have a Bachelor’s in computer science, software engineering or similar (or equivalent non-traditional training) and 5+ years of software engineering work experience, with experience in the fields of ETL and/or data analysis, OR you have a Master’s in computer science, software engineering or similar (or equivalent non-traditional training) and 3+ years of software engineering work experience, with experience in the fields of ETL and/or data analysis.
- Fluency with SQL and Python and/or Scala.
- Experience with distributed systems (Spark, Hive, Redshift, etc.)
- Experience with statistics and analytics.
Nice to have experience with:
- AWS
- DBT
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Working with BI tools, as user or backend (e.g Tableau, Looker)
