User Researcher (Contract)
Trialspark is a software and technology company based in NYC that helps accelerate the discovery of new drugs and medical treatments by reimagining the clinical trial process. We are building a network of our own clinical trial sites and are looking to hire clinical research coordinators who want to join us on our journey to make clinical trials more efficient.
Description
As a User Researcher at Trialspark, you will serve as an advocate for patients and physicians involved in Clinical Trials. You will be responsible for understanding our target audiences and how they interact with our products and services. You’ll collaborate with major stakeholders across all departments to create a methodical and disciplined process for research and answering difficult questions. Your contributions will help us re-imagine the clinical trial.
Some research questions you will tackle:
- How do patients and physicians feel about participating in a clinical trial?
- What concerns do patients and physicians have when thinking about clinical trials?
- Why do patients and physicians participate in clinical trials?
- Motivations, criteria, etc.
- Where do patients and physicians learn about new clinical trials?
- Pain points, decision-making process, etc.
- What does a great clinical trial experience look like?
Responsibilities
- Conduct structured user research on clinical trials
- Collect and analyze user behavior through a number of methods, including but not limited to field visits, demographic and usability surveys, and remote interviews
- Partner with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers and other business stakeholders to identify, define, and prioritize research opportunities
- Synthesize and communicate research findings to help improve the company
Relevant Experience
- You are empathetic, curious, and love acting as the voice of users
- You can design surveys (ie: Qualtrics) and have experience conducting user interviews
- You enjoy designing structured experiments and understand the need for statistical significance
- You have strong communication skills
- You enjoy working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
Bonus points
- You have experience conducting usability studies either live or remote (e.g. Userzoom or usertesting.com)
- You have working knowledge of health care and clinical trials
- You understand the pros and cons of different research techniques, including when and how to apply them
