General Summary
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Global Data & Privacy Officer will work closely with the Legal, Compliance, Product, and Information Security functions to (1) monitor compliance and data practices to ensure the business and its products comply with applicable privacy regulations; (2) interact and advise the product team on privacy and data use to enable DV to continue to be the standard for the most secure, privacy-compliant, and independently evaluated media authentication company globally; and (3) be a senior external representative of DoubleVerify to represent its business interests with respect to privacy and data use with industry associations, partners and customers in the digital advertising eco-system, government organizations, and other privacy-influencing entities that impact the advertising industry. The Global Data & Privacy Officer will also be responsible for staff training, data protection impact assessments, and internal audits, and serve as the primary contact for supervisory authorities and individuals whose data is processed by the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Review customer, partner, and vendor contracts with respect to data privacy requirements in partnership with the firm’s Legal and Information Security functions and ensure filing requirements with local regulators are achieved.
-Implement measures and a privacy governance framework to manage data use in compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA), including developing templates for data collection, assisting with data mapping, vendor management reviews, and complete and advise on privacy impact assessments.
-Collaborate with the Product team to review data assets to help develop new products and uses.
-Partner with DoubleVerify’s governance and accreditations team to expand global accreditations and certifications footprint to ensure 3rd-party accreditations and certifications meet the business needs of the company, expand to include new services, and serve growing global customer base.
-Represent DoubleVerify’s business interests externally with industry associations, partners and customers in the digital advertising eco-system, government organizations, and other privacy-influencing entities that impact the advertising industry.
-Participate in relevant groups to ensure DoubleVerify’s products set the standard for privacy-compliant measurement and DoubleVerify has influence in industry and regulatory changes that impact the business.
-Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for data protection authorities on all data protection related matters.
-Serve as the primary point of contact for queries in the business related to privacy and data use
-Develop privacy training to various business functions and collaborate with the Information Security function to raise employee awareness of data privacy and security issues.
-Develop strategies and initiatives to ensure engagement with key internal and external stakeholders.
-Work with the Information Security function to maintain records of all data assets and exports, and continue to develop data security incident management plan to ensure timely remediation of incidents, including impact assessments, security breach response, complaints, claims or notifications, and responding to subject access requests (SARs).
-Ensure that the IT systems and procedures comply with all relevant data privacy and protection law, regulation and policy (including in relation to the retention and destruction of data).

Position Specifications
-3+ years’ experience in Privacy required.
-Education Law degree from an accredited law school strongly preferred. 
-Hold at least one Data Protection and/or Privacy certification such as, CIPP, CIPT, ISEB, etc., (preferred).
-Experience with U.S. and EU data privacy laws.
-Multiple years’ experience within a compliance, legal, audit and/or risk function, with recent experience in privacy compliance.
-Experience in developing policy and compliance training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Strong knowledge of EU and U.S data privacy and data protection regulations, and a good understanding of other major privacy frameworks and evolving legislation worldwide.
-Strong knowledge of information technology and data management systems required; experience in the digital advertising space a plus.
-Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm.
-Experience of working in a global organization.
-Ability to work unsupervised, exercise leadership, and influence change.Excellent writing and presentation skills.
-Ability to use independent judgment and discretion when making majority of decisions. 
-Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
-Able to represent DoubleVerify externally with regulatory bodies, industry organizations and customers/partners.
