The Role:
Art assistants at Harry’s support the day-to-day operations of our in-house creative department. They are flexible, quick, and jump from project to project with ease. The candidate must have a strong passion for design and photography.
Daily responsibilities include working with designers and art directors on projects of every scale, competitive research, and production of design work. Candidates should have a discerning eye for photography, design, typography, and be familiar with current design trends and best practices for both print and digital. They deliver concepts and ideas that are strategic, on-brand, innovative and understanding of the customer perspective and are fluent in concepting and collaborating. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Designers and Art Directors on the creation of campaign concepts, presentations (including mood boards & image presentations) and design studies
- Digital and print design production of approved design work
- Competitive design and photography research for projects
- Execute on creative briefs submitted from various departments and global partners—including emails, digital ads, site assets, logo/branding design, and collateral
- Various design tasks such as masking images, image processing, designing mocks of photo concepts and design concepts, putting together decks and presentations.
- Assist producer with creation of pre-production support documents
- Contribute to the evolution of the brand image
Qualifications:
- BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent
- 1-2 years of professional experience is a plus
- Self-starter who possesses the ability to create original work.
- Organized, dependable and self-motivated with the ability to excel in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Adobe CC and Sketch—knowledge of Keynote is a plus
- Quick to learn new programs and techniques
- Superb communication skills, professional attitude, upbeat approach, team-oriented mentality
- Ability to gracefully manage multiple priorities, internal workflow, deadlines and stakeholder expectations
- A desire to learn about advertising with a strategic approach to the creative process
- A passion for design, typography, creative and brand thinking.
- Insightful, creative eye, and outstanding attention to detail.
- Empathy for the customer and their interaction with the brand in advertising.
- An eagerness to learn about new business models and tackle strategic issues.
- A great attitude and sense of humor.
