The role:

Andela is seeking an experienced visual designer ready to take the next step in their career, leading production of creative assets in support of our digital and print marketing initiatives. In addition to a demonstrated mastery of conventional graphic design, this individual must have experience creating UI/UX designs and visual assets for web properties, and be familiar with digital design conventions and digital marketing best practices.

In this role, you’ll be tasked with elevating Andela’s visual identity and helping standardize it across our global teams, seamlessly switching between big picture, creative thinking and the day to day execution required to deliver a steady stream of marketing assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Help promote and evolve Andela's brand guidelines
  • Create UI/UX designs and visual assets for web-based properties
  • Design and produce digital assets including but not limited to: sales one-pagers, company pitch decks, social content, header images, inline images, posters, e-newsletters, infographics, and case studies
  • Effectively articulate concepts and creative solutions (visually and verbally), ensuring that the graphics and text tie together to create powerful, relevant messages
  • Extrapolate creative direction and use art direction and design to provide effective visual communication that supports messaging goals
  • Design table-based email templates in HTML and in Hubspot that adhere to digital marketing best practices
  • Translate draft versions of Keynote/PowerPoint decks into visually compelling, animated presentations
  • Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to execute quick, effective, sharp design
  • Mentor and support more junior designers
  • Determine team bandwidth against business priorities and production requests; in the event team is under-resourced, provide a POV and solutions around staffing and outside vendors/contractors
  • Be in a position to manage creative contractors as needed to fulfill design requests on time
  • Help marketing leadership create standards and processes related to Creative Briefs, Design SLA’s, and how to work efficiently across departments

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in graphic, interactive design and/or advertising. Agency experience is a big plus.
  • Proven familiarity and experience with digital design conventions (web and social) and best practices as well as traditional print design and production requirements
  • Excels at independently balancing workflow
  • Comfortable balancing multiple projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Modern, sophisticated design aesthetic with demonstrable expertise in graphic design, layout and typography
  • Proven expertise in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with UX/UI, web design
  • Comfortable with short development cycles and flexible with shifting priorities
