Associate Principal, User Experience Research (Senior UX Researcher (MUST be aligned within a Product org)

Grubhub is looking for an experienced Associate Principal UX Research to join the growing UXR team. Specifically, we're searching for a customer-centric and motivated researcher to lead projects across our three marketplaces (Diner, Driver, Restaurant). You will bring an expertise in mixed methods research, and be able to independently design, lead, and execute evaluative and generative research at all stages of the customer lifecycle. They'll turn this research into compelling insights that drive the direction of their product team and overall business. You will report to the Director, UX Research.
The Impact You Will Make
- Collaborate with and become a trusted partner to one of Grubhub's product teams
- Define important questions and hypotheses to help teams solve complex problems
- Plan, design, and execute research studies, both evaluative and generative, employing a range of methods from usability tests and interviews to in-context ethnographies
- Summarize data from internal and external sources to lead a deeper understanding of our customers to guide decisions
- Craft actionable stories to communicate insights to partners within your team and across the business

- Advocate for the customer across multiple products (Driver, Diner and Restaurant) to improve customer experience and downstream outcomes
- Manage your work and identify what's next to help build the roadmap
- Help create a culture of inclusivity, and well-being for researchers and designers
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's degree required
- 7+ years relevant experience in mixed methods UX research
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience
- Customer champion and practitioner of human-centered design methodologies
- You know how to switch between the micro (moment in an experience and how it impacts what a customer does) and macro (what a customer needs from a product)
- You're experienced at creating compelling stories from data to turn research into action
- Build relationships with partners by working with them throughout the research process and influencing downstream decision-making
- Expertise in a qualitative research platform, such as UserTesting or UserZoom
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced tech environment
- An appetite (and the skill) for working across all digital and physical manifestations of what we design

Vaccination Requirement: Grubhub employees are required to be fully vaccinated, and must be able to show proof of full-Covid-19 vaccination, and booster if eligible, prior to starting employment.
