The Farmer’s Dog was created to radically improve the $90 billion global pet food industry — starting with a subscription service that sends freshly-made food directly to customers’ doors. Long term, our aim is to simplify every part of pet care, bettering the lives of the animals who make our lives better. Where You'll Come In
The Creative Director will lead concept development and execution across all of our major brand touchpoints, translating insights and intuitions into memorable creative ideas that build our brand and business. In an increasingly visual, attention-depleting world, we believe the power of the written and spoken word has only become more important, and we’re looking for a creative leader with a writing background who understands and appreciates the ways in which the right word or phrase - whether in a piece of communication seen by millions or a text message sent to one customer - can move hearts, change minds, and drive results.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Develop creatives ideas and concepts that address our brand and business goals, and ensure they are brought to life in a distinctive voice and to a high standard of quality
- Oversee concept development and copywriting across all touch points, with a healthy amount of hands-on writing yourself
- Manage, mentor and inspire a team of copywriters
- Act as a steward of creativity and big idea thinking across the company, championing an ‘everything is brand’ mentality
- Refine and codify The Farmer’s Dog’s brand voice and tone, drawing upon our brand and product truths, insights from customers, and your own instincts
We're Excited About You Because
- You have 10+ years of experience, preferably including Associate Creative Director or Creative Director experience on the agency or brand-side
- You’re attentive to the details of every phrase, word, and punctuation mark, but also never lose sight of the big picture of the message or the brand
- You’re committed to a bold vision and POV, but also receptive to input from anywhere
- You love writing in all forms and across multiple channels/formats, and can adapt tone and style while still ensuring a cohesive brand voice
- You have experience bringing to life integrated campaigns that build brand equity and drive business results
- You enjoy managing and mentoring creative talent
- You’re passionate about understanding our current and prospective customers and figuring out how best to appeal to and persuade them
- You’re comfortable using and proactively asking for data to inform creative and messaging decisions
- You’re on top of the latest cultural trends, memes, and linguistic styles, but never succumb to passing fads
- You’re always looking to improve your craft and how our brand and organization can be portrayed through the written word
- You’re strategically-minded but driven by intuition
