We're Brigit, a financial health app for the everyday American. By using cash flow data to automate finances, not only do we help people today, but also empower them to start saving for tomorrow and permanently transform their financial future. Brigit analyzes data from billions of individual bank transactions and formulates a deep understanding of each member’s cash-flow mismatches and spending habits. Using that data, we're able to send no-fee predictive advances and help millions of Americans avoid late payment fees, predatory overdraft fees, and interest rates. Our initial product is focused on disrupting the predatory $44 Billion payday loan and overdraft market and our future products will continue to empower and improve the lives of over 100M underserved Americans!

Brigit is hiring an experienced Creative Director to join us as a leader on our growing Marketing team. As Creative Director, you will build and oversee the creative strategy, lead execution for the brand and provide creative vision that will help build our brand into the type that leaves a lasting impression with its members across every aspect of the customer journey.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee and manage the aesthetic and functional pieces of ad design, ensuring each area comes together and clearly represent Brigit’s brand
  •  Bring Brigit’s brand to life by leading and overseeing all creative development including photography, videography, design and copy across all channels
  • Push the creative envelope for Brigit by developing creative strategies that integrate research, audience insights, cultural insights, and creative insights into an actionable plan for the development of industry-leading, highly effective consumer campaigns
  • Work with both external partners and internal stakeholders on brand creative asset ideation and execution to ensure Brigit maintains a consistent visual identity, tone and voice across all platforms, products and consumer touch points
  • Manage and guide the creative process and the creative team's work from start to finish by managing project flow and prioritization including establishing project cadences, review timelines, and a clear design process
  • Delegate to and work closely with the Marketing leadership and Lead Designer to set creative direction
  • Build, lead and manage a dynamic team, spanning art/video direction, design, copy, and production, while also leveraging/leading external agencies as needed

Who You Are

  • 6+ years experience developing and managing the development of a brand - both visual design and messaging - for a diverse group of audiences to drive marketing performance and grow business, including 3 - 5 years of management experience
  • You are deeply invested in understanding the impact that your creative has on the audience you are speaking to and strive to deliver against KPIs - if a campaign performs well you push the creative further and if a campaign falls short you work with key stakeholders to understand why
  • Experience in rethinking, evolving, and building new brand marketing strategies to drive business results
  • Strong analytical ability, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Appetite for problem solving and a love for fast-paced, constantly-changing environments
  • You embrace and are inspired to be a key driver of Brigit’s mission

An Insider's view of Brigit

What are some social events your company does?

One of my favorite events that Brigit has is employee-run quarterly breakfasts. The staff running the breakfast attempt do their best in impersonating a New York deli - making breakfast sandwiches on griddles and pourover coffee to order. We also try to encourage a no meeting and laptop policy during the breakfast hour to spend some quality time.

Jeremy

Engineering Manager

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

Our goal on Data Science is to strike the right balance between helping more users and minimizing losses. Most users need money to purchase food, gas, or even buy a meal. The credit underwriting models we use allow us to help as many people as we can and improve our user retention over time in order to achieve a competitive advantage.

Madhu

Senior Data Science Manager

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

I joined Brigit after graduating from college. During my 2.5 years at Brigit, my career has grown in ways I would not have expected. Six months into my time at Brigit, I began doing more backend work and moving into a Full-Stack role. After 1.5 years, I took on the role of technical lead on our Membership team.

Avery

Software Engineer -- Tech Lead

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

I'm always available via slack and then I work to schedule skip levels with everyone on engineering, as well as with folks outside of engineering on occasion throughout the month to make sure I have a pulse on how folks are doing. Additionally I try to solicit feedback through our culture & development platform and use that to spur conversations.

Hamel

Co-Founder & CTO

What are some things you learned at the company?

In my time at Brigit I've been able to learn how not to just build a brighter future for others but for myself as well. Each and every day here I have had the opportunity to improve my problem-solving skills, adapt to meet the needs of our users, and provide them the information they need to build the lives they want for themselves.
