As Creative Technologist at Kaia, your main responsibility is to drive the design and creation of novel user experiences through innovative technology. You will work in close collaboration with our cross-functional product teams, domain experts and company stakeholders towards innovative solutions that shape our product and the future of digitally mediated multimodal-therapy. This position reports directly to the head of user experience. In summary, you will... 

What you'll do

• hypothesize and ideate innovative user experiences with a focus on Human-AI interaction and our flagship product - Kaia Health’s Motion Coach
• drive design thinking and creative interaction design to shape how Kaia users experience digitally mediated multimodal-therapy.
• inform Kaia’s product and innovation strategy via research through design, i.e. explore and validate new opportunities for meaningful user experiences enabled through innovative technology, in particular machine learning, and computer-vision.
• lead collaborative rapid ideation, conceptualisation and design iteration in the product team through prototyping.
• closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to productize novel prototypes towards practical mass market appeal and release-ready maturity.
• help to further shape a human-centered design and systematic design thinking culture across product teams and the company.

About you

• You have a strong background in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Design Research or related fields, as well as solid engineering skills that enable you to think, act and drive technical prototyping beyond current technological limitations.
• You have an impressive track record showcasing conceptual interaction design for innovative interactive technology (computer vision, machine learning, AR/VR, TV/large display interaction, smart watch, phone sensorics, embedded systems, etc), as well as current mass-market platforms (iOS, Android, Web).
• You have extensive knowledge of design research / research-through-design methodologies.
• You have strong experience working along systematic design thinking and iterative design processes in a fast-paced environment.
• You enjoy collaborating and working in a cross-functional, multidisciplinary team.
• You know how to effectively collaborate with UX researchers to transform user insights into product features/concepts that facilitate delightful and meaningful user experiences.
• You are able to take effective short-cuts to help the team launch MVPs quickly, and test hypotheses to inform further iterations.
• You know how to effectively collaborate with other design roles (UI designers, illustrators, content creators, copy writers, etc) to shape proven prototypes towards productization and mass-market appeal.
• You have very good English skills with an ability to articulate in both written and spoken language.

Nice to have

• experience with designing for Human-AI interaction
• experience with Somaesthetic Design, Exertion Interfaces and/or Embodied Interaction
• hands-on programming skills on iOS and/or Android that enable you to implement technical prototypes.
• an understanding of the healthcare industry and being exposed to medical regulations.
