Curriculum Designer (Contract)
Codecademy teaches over 25 million people around the world the skills they need to find jobs. We are looking for a talented Curriculum Designer to design web development courses for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners. In this role you will determine the outcomes, scope, concepts, and technologies required for all Codecademy web development courses.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design high-quality curricula to inspire and educate millions of aspiring of web developers;
- Define the learning experience by shaping curriculum standards, lessons, quizzes, and projects;
- Define how Codecademy teaches quality assurance engineering;
- Be recognized as a thought-leader on a platform with tens of millions of learners;
Skills required:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to lead a small team and project;
- Deep understanding of the fundamentals of software testing;
- Ability to simplify and explain complex topics;
- Deep understanding of software engineering concepts;
- Unit testing experience, preferably with Mocha and Chai libraries;
- Integration testing experience, preferably with Jest;
- Practical experience with test-driven development;
- Nice to have: Relevant experience as an instructor, tutor, or mentor

What you'll do:
- Define the scope and boundaries of our quality assurance engineering curricula;
- Define learning standards;
- Explain the learning standards in detail and provide examples, so that a Curriculum Developer can produce content with efficiency and clarity;
- Write and provide guidance on canonical project code for exercises and projects;
- Ensure technical accuracy and enforce best practices in all produced content
