The CB Insights Data Visualization Associate will be be part of a team responsible for short and long form data visualizations, and infographics utilizing data, art, and storytelling to make complex issues digestible for millions of people. Working as part of our design team, your work will be seen across a variety of channels including to the media (3200+ press citations in the last year), our daily newsletter (500k+ subscribers) and our research blog (1 million+ visitors per month). This is a chance to join a newly formed graphics/visualizations team at a fast-growing software company that has already established itself as a leader in marrying data and storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for taking complex information and transforming it into a data visualization story
• Work with a designer to create infographics to support our data-driven research
• Work with the research team to provide data driven visuals to media (regularly in Bloomberg, FT, Wall street Journal etc) and within our newsletter - the tech industry’s largest
• Helping create visualization and infographic brand standards
• Discover new tools to assist in the creation of visualizations including tools for non-designers

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• 1+ years of data visualization experience with proven examples
• Expertise designing maps, data visualizations, infographics, charts, and diagrams
• Ability to take data and research and create a compelling story
• Extensive knowledge of data visualizations rules and best practices
• Effective communication skills and no fear of working under tight deadlines, across many teams with quickly shifting priorities
• Up to date with necessary tools including excel, and D3
