We are looking for a Design Director to join our marketing team. This position will report to our VP of Brand & Creative and will be responsible for a broad range of work from building brand visual language systems to media-diverse executions across digital, print, events, and more. This hire will need to be ambitious and highly creative—someone self-motivated with a strong work ethic looking to inspire a team of designers. What you'll do:

• Ensure all work is based on strategic thinking, conceptually inspiring, and always building our brand
• Be an expert that enjoys being hands-on, from concept to the craft of implementation
• Translate direction from creative briefs into engaging and effective design and visual concepts
• Continue to develop and build out brand standards for visual design
• Build flexible design systems that allow us to quickly iterate with creativity and expressiveness
• Elevate the brand design team’s craft through inspiration and exposure to new references
• Use design to inspire both our internal culture and the 99% of Americans that need our help
• Fight for the user

What we're looking for:

• 6+ years of relevant design experience at a creative agency or in-house on a brand marketing team
• Experience leading and mentoring designers
• A far-ranging body of work from brand visual language systems to media-diverse executions across digital, print, events, and more
• An expansive, visual, and articulate imagination
• Ability to thrive with an open canvas and autonomy
• An expert in the technical components of design
• Ability to break down strategy into clear concept direction and executable actions
• A team player and an excellent collaborator
• Great communicator and problem solver
• Must posses integrity, sophistication, vision, and versatility
