We expect the successful candidate to have 7+ years’ experience of delivering digital design solutions. The candidate has loved working in a collaborative team environment before and has experience of interacting with distributed teams. As part of Dailymotion Design, Design leads foster day-to-day a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between design, content, business and engineering to create world-class product across multiple platforms.

Candidates must have strong mentoring and communication skills. The role combines growing and managing a team with cross-functional team collaboration in order to continuously improve design process and culture.

Job Description

· Manage and develop a team of designers, setting clear goals, allocating designers accordingly, ensuring deadlines are met and setting up team members for overall success.

· Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, user research and communication design to ensure a smooth product development process.

· Identify cross-functional opportunities and build relationships and thought partnerships both within Product & Engineering as well as other teams in dailymotion.

· Foster Dailymotion’s design culture and principles within the product organization and offices

· Good understanding of visual design, interaction design and various technologies. Can do hands-on design when necessary

Qualifications

· 7+ years of experience with end-to-end product design

· 3+ experience in a people management role on a Design team

· Experience shipping multiple products

· A portfolio of work that contains examples of Interaction (UX) Design and Visual Systems Development for digital applications that work in cross browser environments.

· Demonstrates the ability to balance proactive and reactive work

· Understands the distinction between important and urgent

· Systems-thinker with the ability to think beyond the pixels and design for offline experiences

· Experience and comfort working across platforms. Eagerness to learn what’s current and what’s next in technology and to design in those spaces

· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

· You can find a meaningful balance between optimizing for speed, quality, and doing risky, but interesting work
