Block is a renovation platform that transforms the renovation experience for homeowners and contractors. Block democratizes access to high-end design, while combining design, construction, and materials procurement into a single all-inclusive experience. Block simplifies a complex and convoluted process while ensuring homeowners never feel uncertainty when beginning a home renovation project.

The Design Marketplace Manager role is critical to the success of Block’s business. You are Block’s front line representative for establishing strategic partnerships with the best designers available, helping to grow and scale the supply side of Block’s design practice. You are a master of building relationships, communication, and influencing others to drive outcomes that exceed expectations. You are also a passionate, adaptable and motivated interior/architectural designer who delivers on beautiful outcomes for our growing client base while constantly finding scalable ways to increase efficiency, save money and increase quality of outcomes. Responsibilities include:

  • Define a nationally scalable program for design professionals, from interior designers to licensed architects; adapt the program as Block grows and develops
  • Recruit and manage our network of freelance design professionals; reduce friction in the vetting and onboarding process
  • Review project outcomes and establish, monitor and analyze KPIs to maintain performance and drive retention of high performing partners
  • Be a player-coach; guide clients through our design experience, creating renders, proposals and drawings, in order to find ways to improve our design program for our design partners and clients
  • Work cross-functionally with teams like procurement, construction, digital product and marketing to help us deliver high quality, efficient design experiences for our clients


Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience, especially with management experience
  • Architecture, interior design, construction or home improvement experience
  • Fluency with CAD, Revit, Sketchup/Rhino, Google Suite, and Creative suite is a must
  • Strong analytical mindset and interest in data and its ability to drive serious business impact; fluency in Excel and Google Sheets is a must
  • Passionate about creating great consumer experiences
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communicator who can develop lasting business relationships
  • No task is too small attitude and willingness to take any project on
