As a Design Strategist, you will work on the Design Strategy team in New York City to concept and deliver premium creative content for Snapchat’s advertisers. We are looking for a forward-thinking creative to join the team with a background in illustration, design, and animation. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the exploration, conceptualization, and execution of premium pitches.
What you’ll do:
Craft elegant visual solutions to solve multi-faceted problems and work with other designers / animators to bring these solutions to life
Become an expert in Snapchat’s creative best practices and stay informed on product changes and advertising platform developments
Deliver out-of-the-box concepts, designs and presentations for pre-sale premium pitches
Take ownership of the end-to-end design process, from concept to creation and beyond
Deliver style frames and storyboards in a range of styles, including character-based, illustrative and typographic
Collaborate with the Design Strategy Lead and team members on projects, as well as work independently
Conceptualize and produce original artwork, both digitally and by hand
Present work internally to key stake-holders, providing rationale and justification for your design execution
Collaborate closely with Creative Strategists and Sales to ensure design executions reflect the creative challenge and result in a high quality end-product
Work with our cross-functional partners to stay up-to-date on projects, platform and product developments
Maintain an awareness of relevant design and technology trends that contribute to the progress of personal and team output
Degree in Illustration, Design, or similar, or equivalent work experience
3+ years of experience in a design role in digital/print
A portfolio showcasing high-quality, thoughtful illustration work
Experience in design and animation across digital and social media platforms
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Experience developing design concepts that tell compelling stories to a broad audience
Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills in a collaborative environment
Ability to work under pressure and rise to creative challenges under tight deadlines
Attention to detail, in communication and in design output
Strong typography, layout and editing skills
Ability to generate new concepts quickly based on stakeholder direction and self-driven research
Proficiency in presentation software (Keynote and Google Slides) is a plus
Knowledge in 3D design / animation is a plus
