Position Summary

The Designer will directly support the Ad Sales Creative team in designing various Ad Sales and Marketing projects and business materials, including RFP responses and custom client presentations. This candidate must have previous design experience with a strong focus in motion graphics, presentation design, and print layout, including data visualization and strong typography. The Designer must be highly organized and possess demonstrated skills in After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and PowerPoint. Great interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work as a team on time-sensitive and confidential projects while maintaining a calm, team-oriented professional work environment is integral to this position.

Responsibilities

1. Work with Ad Sales Creative team to conceptualize, design, and deliver materials (Motion graphics, PowerPoint presentations, event support, digital/print projects, e-mail blasts, digital/print invitations, newsletters, etc.) across Discovery’s portfolio of brands
2. Share work and contribute feedback on team collaboration system to help foster a team-oriented environment
3. Consistency of quality, thoughtful, on-brand design to meet challenges and time-sensitive/changing deadlines
4. Organize information and create visual hierarchy in design
5. Remain current in design and cultural trends and apply to projects
6. Support the Ad Sales Creative team as needed
7. Become proficient in cloud-based presentation software
8. Maintain open communication with supervisor and team members at all times
9. Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident

Requirements

* Expert knowledge and experience with AfterEffects, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and PowerPoint
* Experience in Premiere or with Cinema 4D a Plus
* Professional and positive demeanor, strong time management and organizational skills are required
* Ability to remain calm under high-pressure deadlines and situations while upholding staff and client expectations
* Flexible schedule is required; ability to stay late or work on weekends when necessary
* Excellent collaboration skills and great work ethic
* Self-starter with ability to work independently
* Mac/PC proficient
* Four Year college degree (Degree in Motion Graphics, Graphic Design, Communication Design, or Fine Arts preferred)
* Minimum 3 years of professional design experience (cable/broadcast, design, advertising, or entertainment industry experience preferred)
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
