WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Braze is seeking a Director of Product Design to head our design team in New York City. Braze is a powerful product that operates at massive scale, with thousands of weekly users and billions of end-users who interact with our campaigns. As a result, having an intuitive, usable platform is critical. As the Head of Product Design, you will build and lead the team that crafts the user experience and look & feel of the Braze platform. This includes the dashboard that our clients use on a daily basis, the documentation sites that teach them about the product, and the notifications and UI that reach billions of our customers’ end-users.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You’ll work closely with other leaders across the company to scale and lead an organization that deeply understands our users and builds great experiences. Opportunities include:

• Managing, coaching, and scaling the product design team.
• Defining and refining career paths for product designers at Braze.
• Fostering a culture of high-quality product design.
• Partnering with Product Management and Engineering to evolve and scale Braze’s product development culture and processes.
• Collaborating with other design leaders on our marketing team to build a cohesive brand experience across Braze’s product and external-facing assets.
• Owning and evangelizing the role of product design within the company.

WHO YOU ARE

• 7+ years of product design experience, with strong product design sense and deep experience building intuitive, beautiful products to match.
• Past experience hiring and managing teams of product designers.
• Past experience mapping out career and growth paths for design team members.
• Substantial experience designing products at significant scale, collaborating with technical teams.
• A strong ability to get things done and help organizations to evolve.
• Excellent communication skills and an inspiring, positive attitude.
• Bonus:
  • Background in user experience research.
  • Visual design skills.
  • Prior experience working in the marketing technology industry, on enterprise SaaS products, or at scaling startups.
  • Experience working on an application with massive scale (billions of end users).
