E-Commerce Art Director

We’re seeking an E-Commerce Art Director to lead photography across all digital e-commerce platforms. digital design and our website experience. This individual will be responsible for developing photography and video strategy, preparing for and art directing photo shoots and ensuring creative consistency across products and platforms while working closely with Design, UX, Product and Production teams.
This position will work from our headquarters in NoHo, NYC.
REQUIREMENTS
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain detailed photography and merchandising strategy for all products across website
- Revise strategy as needed to account for new product categories, collaborations, marketing objectives, and/or UX updates
- Review creative briefs for incoming shoots and develop creative direction in a collaborative effort with key stakeholders, taking ideas from concept to execution
- Work closely with the Design team to ensure brand/campaign alignment and visual consistency
- Partner with the UX team to ensure optimization of images for digital designs and e-commerce sales
- Gather performance insights from Web and CX teams to continue optimizing the customer experience
- Monitor industry trends to ensure best-in-class e-commerce experience
- Work closely with production to prep for photo shoots, including shot list development, and prop sourcing
- Serve as the on-set art director responsible for outputs that consider needs across the company
- Oversee retouching, cropping and prep of all images across the website to ensure consistency
Who you are:
- 4-6 years of experience working as a visual/photo art director for an e-commerce brand
- Extensive on-set art direction experience with the ability to manage unforeseen changes and feedback
- Strong understanding of UX design best practices and comfortable collaborating with UX and Web teams
- Passion for minimalist design with cohesive vision of design approach
- Broad knowledge of composition, color, imagery and typography, as it relates to the web and UX best practices
- Knowledge and appreciation of photography, including color correction and retouching processes
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Nuanced understanding of Away’s brand, aesthetic, voice, and mission
