Description

Hydrant is seeking a graphic designer to join our rapidly growing team. As our growth and creative teams take on a life of their own, it’s time to hire our first in-house graphic designer. You’ll be reporting to our Brand Marketing Manager, and working together to elevate and differentiate our brand with beautiful, thought provoking content. You should be someone who gets excited about telling stories visually, and working with a team to explore new ideas.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on the creative direction and assets for multi-channel marketing campaigns that elevate and differentiate the brand.
  • Performance focused design: Building a creative strategy and designing assets that help us to hit key performance metrics like click-through rate and conversion rate on various ad platforms.
  • Own the design of both digital and print brand materials, including social posts, emails, package inserts, we pages, landing pages and presentations
  • Own the organization/categorization of all photography and graphic design assets so that they can be easily found when needed.
  • Ideate and execute simple video and motion graphics, adding graphic overlays where necessary to engage consumers and drive sales.
  • Execute smaller design requests such as photo editing/resizing and simple video edits. Iconography will also fall under this.
  • Work closely with teams across the organization, including the performance marketing/ecommerce team, the social team and the retail team to design concepts that keep our brand elevated and consistent across multiple touchpoints.
  • You’ll need to be able to parallel process multiple projects across these different teams to keep the organization nimble.
  • Check all designs going out for accuracy.
  • Design mockups that can be developed into functional landing pages or webpages on the site. Help to test and iterate on these designs to maximize conversion.
  • Work with Brand Marketing Manager to maintain brand guidelines and design templates to keep our brand consistent even when working with external partners.

Requirements

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in a graphic designer role, ideally at a digital agency, or an early stage ecommerce brand
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs, including motion graphics
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Positive attitude with a growth mindset - you’re looking to be challenged and learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with the uncertainty and changing needs of working at a startup, and able to prioritize work and communicate clearly to different stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team while managing multiple graphic design projects simultaneously.

Nice to haves:

  • Some web design experience is a big plus, as is being familiar with email design best practices.
  • Advanced video editing skills
  • Graphic Design Degree
  • Packaging design experience

Benefits

Hydrant is an early stage-startup with lots of exciting milestones to come. You’ll find a supportive culture of continuous growth and a desire to make products that hydrate more people in more places.

  • Competitive pay + equity
  • Health benefits (including dental & vision)
  • Paid time off
  • Free Hydrant
  • The chance to be among the first team members at a high-growth CPG start-up, where skill development and learning opportunities are abundant!
