About the opportunity
The Instructional Designer is a great opportunity for a creative, results-driven Learning and Development professional to join the skyrocketing industry of legal tech.
The Instructional Designer will bring passion, authenticity, and ambition to an integral part of our People team: Learning and Development. They will have freedom to craft systems from the ground up and achieve high impact results. Combining people skills with technical business acumen, the right person will deliver recognized value and drive record setting engagement. This role will be one of the first dedicated L&D roles on our People and Culture team, so it comes with the chance to build a lasting legacy.
The Instructional Designer will report directly to the Director of Learning and Development. The location for this role is flexible.
What you’ll do
- Own the full lifecycle of Design Projects, from:
- Scoping
- Research and Analysis
- Design
- Development
- Launch
- Pinpoint key employee training needs and develop a robust catalogue for Human Resources, Onboarding, Product Knowledge, and more
- Communicate effectively with key partners and fast-track successful implementation
- Influence company culture and reflect Ontra’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Improvement, Openness, and Results
- Analyze the success of trainings to evaluate both behavioral and business impact
- Cheerlead and support the implementation of a brand new LMS platform
- Demonstrate powerhouse knowledge of our business, both culturally and technically
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience in Instructional Design
- 4+ years of experience creating virtual training for corporations
- Solid knowledge of course development software (Articulate 360 preferred) and at least one Learning Management System
- Effective and creative with:
- Visual design skills
- Storyboarding
- Crafting instructional scripts that are engaging and accessible
- Superb with details and out-of-the-box approach
- Comfort with working autonomously
- A proactive approach and willingness to build systems
