Junior Designer
About Your Role:
As a Junior Designer,you'll play an integral role in supporting the design group in executing pre and post-sale mocks as well as marketing materials. Our intent-driven readers are looking to find answers, solve problems, and be inspired. Your work will address this in a variety of projects. This role requires a versatile designer who is capable of moving from user experience design to marketing collateral effortlessly.
This is currently a three-month project, with the possibility of extending for a longer term.
About Your Contributions:
- Design rich media advertisements based on existing product specifications
- Design visually engaging digital assets for our monthly newsletter.
- Create materials for advertising proposals, including templates, presentation assets and mocks of Dotdash's Ad Product suite
- Assist designers with presentation decks
- The delivery of assets and designs that support post-sale campaigns, including image research, page designs and layouts
- Creating and curating the templates and materials the design team uses to support their pre and post-sale work, including mock request briefs and product skinning and templates
- Ensuring brand best practices are upheld through all digital touchpoints for internal and external partners.
- Working quickly on relatively short deadlines, and transition between project types fluidly
- Partner with other designers and our Sales, Marketing, Content and Product teams to deliver work of the highest quality
- See designs through to fruition by working with Sales, Marketing, Development, Content and Product teams-ensuring quality control and a smooth, elevated visual experience across all platforms
- Bring ideas to life with engaging digital narratives and a commercial awareness
About You:
- You have at least 1+ years experience in a design role at a digital publisher or agency
- You have a mastery of fundamental design principles (imagery, color, layout, form and typography)
- You have proficient technical skills with Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Figma, and Keynote
- You have an understanding of CSS, HTML and front-end development capabilities
- You have an ability to adapt and switch cross vertically
- You are a resourceful learner with a keen interest in current design trends, a curiosity for new technologies and a desire to innovate on how people engage with brands
- You are highly motivated and open to a variety of responsibilities
- You have a degree in Graphic Design, Interactive Design, or a related field
- You have a web-based portfolio that shows a diverse body of work from user experience design to marketing materials.
