We are looking for a Junior Product Designer to help design the future of our digital products. At Birchbox, Product Designers serve a vital role in bringing the customer experience to life: from concepting new features and crafting the details to testing and iterating after launch. We appreciate designers who think deeply, speak thoughtfully and work collaboratively. You will have the opportunity to partner with a small team of engineers, product managers and the rest of the product design team. What you will do:
- Develop a deep understanding of our customers, our business, and our brand
- Support senior design staff while partnering with product managers and engineers to bring growth opportunities from concept to realization
- Sketch flows, prototype and deliver pixel-perfect designs
- Present work, verbalize ideas and communicate design decisions in a thoughtful way
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure what is built matches what was designed
- Assist with recruiting and conducting user tests to improve and sharpen your ideas and designs
- Will report to Senior Product Designer
Role requirements:
- Prior full-time design experience with minimum two years of experience
- Deep portfolio of work, including multiple projects across both desktop and mobile
- Skilled in Adobe CS6 and/or Sketch (skills in prototyping or motion is a bonus)
- Ability to move fluidly between user experience design and visual design
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to balance long term projects with daily design needs
