Job Description

In this position you will join the Product Team to deliver a best-in-class learning experience for our university partners and the students we collectively serve. We identify and partner with providers of educational technology and services to support all aspects of the student’s experience in their online program. Our team’s oversight includes: marketing, enrollment, learning, placement, and retention platforms, products and technologies.

The Lead Product Designer role is responsible for designing features and improvements for mobile, tablet, and desktop platforms that are part of the Noodle Stack. The ideal candidate is a creative and analytical designer who can work with internal stakeholders, provider partners, university partners, and student and faculty end users to grasp user needs and solve design problems. You have a good understanding of product specifications and user psychology, and will make our end-to-end experience more intuitive and delightful.

Responsibilities & Duties

You Will:

  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate business and users’ goals into elegant but practical designs that can deliver on key business and user metrics
  • Ensure designs and user interfaces communicate consistent, effective experiences and messages across all platforms, and are in alignment with core site and branding strategy
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and team members to brainstorm new products, features and functionalities that enhance our user experiences
  • Conduct user requirements analysis, task analysis, conceptual modeling, information architecture design, interaction design, and usability testing.
  • Design and specify user interfaces and information architecture using participatory and iterative design techniques, including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented.

Skills & Qualifications

You can:

  • Develop wireframes and prototypes
  • Produce dev-ready design

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience preferred designing for web and mobile
  • Online portfolio that showcases a high-level understanding of user experience and demonstrates originality, innovation, and strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g. Sketch, Adobe CC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript is a plus
  • An understanding of what it takes to create delightful, consumer-oriented experiences
  • A history of working with customers and prospects to discover user needs and translate them into strong design decisions
  • Talent for managing multiple projects simultaneously, from concept to completion
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the conviction to champion your point of view without sacrificing collaboration
