Doorkee is a New York City based startup solving the biggest hassle of urban living - apartment hunting.

We’re building a peer-to-peer marketplace to reshape how and when apartment renting occurs. Doorkee is helping Landlords increase their revenues by decreasing vacancy time between leases, and earning Departing Tenants up to half a month’s rent by allowing Apartment Seekers to view their apartments.

We’re coming off considerable seed funding - and are looking to grow our team.

We need a talented Lead UX Designer who can focus our product development efforts on our users through user testing, user research and rapid prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of complex projects from concept through execution with little oversight.

• Execute in a fast-paced environment with a high amount of ambiguity.

• Partner closely with our small team of engineers to define problems, map user flows, prototype interactions, and launch new features.

• Accountable for the end to end product development process, including selling through ideas, testing them in the field and presenting to the team.

• Define and execute on big ideas that drive the team mission and goals forward.

• Design elegant flows & interactions for our tenants and landlords across both desktop and mobile.

• Mentor other team members on the value of design and user testing.

• Proactively provide and solicit feedback from engineers and product.

• Continually advocate for our users.

• Thrive in ambiguity.

• Demonstrated history for leading the design of large complex initiatives.

• Track record as a strong collaborator with product managers and engineers.

• Excellent communication skills, high energy, and an optimistic attitude to inspire others.

• Heavy UX experience, with some brand and visual design experience.

• Lo-fi & hi-fi prototyping skills Demonstrated experience with end-to-end product design

• Experience with Sketch is a plus.
