As a Lead UX Designer, you bring an obsession for research-driven, futuristic, scalable design thinking. You inspire those around you to create and evolve digital products that positively influence personal wellness and reduce barriers to a healthy lifestyle.
About You
You are naturally curious and have strong instincts for what great experiences can be. You are a fierce advocate for your user and understand how human-centered design practices can lead to valued, user-friendly products. You find joy in translating complex research into actionable design decisions. You know how to demonstrate an idea with prototyping and how to sell it in with storytelling.
You are comfortable designing for mobile web, native apps, and emerging technologies. You love design systems, pattern libraries, and a strong information architecture. You are able to communicate the value of strong user experience principles to all audiences.
You are comfortable with quick turnaround times and creating products that meet both technology and business constraints. Despite any limitations, you are motivated by the prospect of being able to optimize your work and going above and beyond user expectations.
You are a proven design leader, as well as a team player. You enjoy coaching and motivating others to produce their best work and collaborating with product, engineering, editorial, audience, and analytics to bring simple, elegant solutions to market.
At Everyday Health, we aim to educate, empower, and inspire people to live their healthiest lives. Above all, we’re seeking a Lead UX Designer that will help us realize this mission, and create a positive impact on the world.
What We’re Looking For
Mastery of user experience principles and techniques, such as wireframing, user flow creation, journey mapping, use case definition, and interaction modeling across all digital platforms
Experience building and maintaining design systems and digital style guide libraries in conjunction with the wider product design team to ensure UX principles are upheld and functional product- and company-wide consistency is achieved
Experience crafting interdisciplinary team workshops to frame problems, mine for insights, align on product definition, and convert learnings into new product or feature ideas
Ability to envision complex UX ecosystems and create original, engaging concepts that address design problems, deliver on user and brand values, and inspire teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible
Ability to create, justify, and document interaction models and UI patterns in a systematic way
Enthusiasm for working within an iterative design process informed by user engagement findings and group critique

Fluent in how motion can enhance the user experience and willingness to work closely with the greater design and tech teams to execute your overarching vision
Comfortable navigating ambiguity surrounding design problems and exploring multiple solutions to a single design problem
Fluent in user research strategy — identifying opportunities to explore or validate design concepts with users, crafting audience-appropriate screeners and questionnaires, and drawing out valuable user insights and potential design optimizations
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex interaction concepts, clearly and persuasively, across different audiences at any level of the organization
Adept at vetting developed designs against original vision and specifications, providing detailed feedback to tech towards necessary revisions
Self-motivated and organized, always open to feedback and shifting priorities when required
Experience working in an agile environment and working alongside project managers to balance evolving project needs and communicating blockers and delays when necessary
