Flow is a SaaS e-commerce platform that enables brands and retailers to become international and sell cross-border. Flow’s platform enables merchants to sell & ship globally from their own sites. At Flow we help solve cross-border pain points throughout the entire e-commerce supply chain. We make it easier for merchants to deliver a truly localised experience from the ads they display to the prices and payments methods a user can choose from. These challenges create enormous friction to selling globally for merchants. The result is a next generation platform for cross-border commerce, focused on the customer experience and on maximizing conversion rates.

Flow has raised $55m+ in funding (most recently Series B) from NEA, Amex Venture, Bain Capital Ventures, Forerunner and Fung Capital and more.

About The Role:

Flow makes the normally difficult and complex world of global e-commerce simple. You will be a critical part of that mission. We’re looking for a strong design lead to help bring the Flow vision to life using strong aesthetic sense, research-supported decision making, and customer-first experience design.

Flow’s Product Design team serves a vital role at the company, from contributing to the vision for new features through the craft of the final details in the product. We appreciate designers who think deeply, speak clearly, and embrace collaboration and feedback. You’ll use your ability to solve complex problems and engage your strong sense of design and user experience to create innovative solutions to problems that have never been solved elegantly before.

The position will report into the SVP of Product and Design and be located in our Hoboken office.

You Will:

    • Design software solutions that translates complex problems into simple yet powerful workflows.
    • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather business requirements, technical constraints, and user goals to help inform and shape your design.
    • Research and obtain comprehensive domain knowledge on product areas and apply your understanding to the products you are designing.
    • Balance your work for both short-term deliverable needs and long-term initiatives.
    • Communicate design decisions and tradeoffs to key stakeholders and work flexibly to achieve the best outcomes.
    • Own user experiences from ideation to launch, work in the right fidelities for various product build stages, and iterate to improve user experiences with user research, testing, and feedbacks.
    • Think in systems to consistently incorporate our existing design patterns and to develop and contribute to the design details as you work.

You Are:

    • Appreciative of the challenge of elegantly designing user experiences for very complex user interface problems
    • Collaborative and work well with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure great design solutions
    • Engaged with the industry, staying on top of design trends and processes and bringing the best of what’s out there to the table to constantly improve our products and how we design
    • Love to bring best in class design patterns and/or start from first principles to solve design problems interchangeably
    • Focused on delivering top quality work with urgency and high productivity with a strong, structured design process

You Have:

    • A degree from an accredited university in Design or a related field of study
    • 6+ years in digital product user experience design, visual design, and user research
    • Experience working in eCommerce, SaaS, and/or B2B tools with an emphasis on analytics and workflow design
    • Familiarity with design systems and UI engineering
    • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, Webflow, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
    • Expertise in UI, style documentation, iconography, and illustration
