Responsibilities:

• Lead overall product design direction of company’s product

• Guide company to a simple and coherent user experience

• Design and maintain a holistic view of the product

• Rapidly create designs and prototypes that delight our users and grow our business

• Lead UX research, translating customer feedback into design

• Present and advocate for ideas in front of the design, product, and executive teams

• Develop a repeatable product design system that accelerates our product design work

• Mentor the user experience team, teaching by your example rather than micromanaging

Requirements:

• 8+ years of hands-on user experience design for consumer services

• 3+ years building a design organization at a tech startup

• Strong opinions on modern, effective prototyping methodologies and processes

• Experience working in a multi-team agile technology company

• Experience managing outside design agencies

• Expert knowledge of latest web standards for responsive design

• Prior examples of close collaboration with engineering teams

• Excellent communication and visualization skills
