We’re looking for a Product Designer to create engaging dynamic web experiences. You will bring creative, analytical, technical design, and CSS skills to work in harmony with our talented team of engineers, brand designers, and content strategists to engage prospective customers and tell the Betterment story.

This role is remote eligible. Colorado has an annual starting salary of $104,000, a competitive equity package, health, dental and vision benefits, and a 401(k) offering. This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of an incentive bonus. The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience.A Day in the Life:
- Contribute directly to our marketing websites, creating compelling experiences that engage prospective customers and tell the Betterment story.
- Contribute to product strategy by identifying new opportunities, generating innovative and inclusive solutions, crafting emotionally engaging designs, and improving existing features
- Partner with product management, engineering, brand designers, content strategists, product design, marketing, and many others, working closely in cross-disciplinary teams
- Be responsible for all aspects of design for your projects from inception through launch
- Make informed design decisions based on competitor analysis, research, customer feedback, site metrics and usability reports
- Further develop your design chops, working among a talented team of designers, providing one another feedback and perspective, aiming for a cohesive holistic experience across all touchpoints
- Establish and maintain design principles and patterns to be used across all channels and experiences
- Relevant experience as a product designer
- Portfolio of extraordinary product design work and experience shipping great products to real people
- A clear understanding of how to determine user problems, through research, user testing, and data analysis
- An iterative, customer-centric approach to designing experiences
- Experience designing within an established design system and evolving when appropriate
- Strategic product thinking and vision
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Experience working in a data-informed test and learn environment
- Experience designing for accessibility
- Ability to write CSS
Bonus points if you have experience:
- Building websites via a CMS like HubSpot
- Creating search-engine optimized websites and content
- Using UX analysis tools, like Mixpanel, Hotjar, FullStory, or Optimizely
- Designing with Figma

On average, it takes us around 2-3 weeks to make a hiring decision, depending on your availability and sense of urgency. As a best practice, we aim to interview at least 3 final round candidates before making a hiring decision.
