Our core team consists of operators and investors with a track record of building multi-billion dollar businesses in the technology and healthcare sectors. More about Lively
An estimated 30-40 million Americans suffer from hearing loss and only 10-15% have treated it. Enter Lively – If you’ve been looking for a well-funded, high-growth company that is also mission-driven, this is it.

Lively is a unique blend of experts in audiology and seasoned Internet executives from companies including Amazon, Facebook, FreshDirect, Lyft and 1stdibs who all share the same mission: to democratize, simplify and de-stigmatize the adoption and use of technically advanced hearing aids, empowering more people with hearing loss to hear better.

We are looking for a Product Designer. In this role, you will apply your passion for interaction and product design to creating a best-in-class experience to help solve one of America’s greatest healthcare issues – untreated hearing loss. In this early stage startup you’ll have the ability to learn and grow in online and offline experiences, on the web and building and developing apps. We have bold plans and design will play a critical role in our success.

What you’ll do:
  • Reporting to Head of Design, you’ll collaborate with Design, Product and Engineering leaders to drive conversion, improve customer satisfaction with hearing aids, develop cutting edge diagnostic tools.
  • Develop and transform high-level flows and wireframes into fully fleshed out engineering-ready mockups.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate to develop new features.
  • Author and develop an iterative style guide.
  • Develop and conduct usability and acceptance testing.
  • Develop rich and engaging interactives to convey product benefits.
  • Bore your friends with your rich knowledge of audiology.
What you’ll get:
  • Collaborative, high-energy and empowering environment.
  • The ability to work in a fast-growing startup that can jumpstart your career development.
  • Excellent benefits that include competitive health care, commuter benefits.
  • Team lunches, happy hours and company outings.
  • A nice commute to Union Square.
About you
  • You’re passionate and pragmatic. You are driven by great experience design and are a tireless advocate for the user. You balance your desire for excellence with moving fast. You trust experimentation and scrappiness gets you there in the end.
  • You’re hungry. A curious and well-rounded designer who owns the online interactions and visual details, but loves getting into complex workflows. You’re excited to step out of your comfort zone and try new things to drive the customer experience and the business forward.
  • You’ve got good judgment. You know when to push ahead and when to stop, listen and think.
  • Relentless in driving simplicity. You take pride in showing rather than telling. You’re a visual thinker and love transforming complex explanations into simple visualizations.
  • Collaborative and fearless. Great product design is a team sport. You thrive with full-contact collaboration. You throw half-baked ideas out there, and work with others to flesh them out. You’re not afraid to kill your darlings – or challenge group think.
  • You’re a closet product manager. Your solutions are grounded in research and data. You love the freedom of testing and learning. You’re always thinking about how you’ll test your hypothesis and have a plan B in your pocket.
  • 3+ years minimum as a Product or UX designer.
  • Fluent in Sketch (seriously, you like, LOVE Sketch), Invision and the Adobe Suite
  • A portfolio that demonstrates your process, a user-centered approach, and the results.
  • Experience with both marketing funnels and designing web-based applications.
  • Excel at problem-solving and are able to communicate the reasons behind your design decisions.
  • You’re a mature person who can make tough decisions. You have a passion for a superlative user experience balanced with an understanding that startups need to move fast.
  • A love for simple user flows, information hierarchy, interaction design, visual design and usability heuristics.
  • Passion for design and eagerness to collaborate with other creative people.
  • Self-motivated, organized and accountable.
  • A positive, can-do attitude. We’re going to do great things. And you can’t wait to do them.
