The role of the Senior Designer is to work with the Associate Creative Director and Creative Director, to create visual communications in an effective and aesthetically pleasing manner and drive the Freshly brand. This role also requires collaboration with all departments, to create on-brand, extraordinary and original marketing assets.

The Senior Designer has a strong graphic eye and solid typography and color skills. They will be creating marketing and promotional materials and collaborating with the product team to develop on-site and on-app assets.. On occasion, there may be additional asks for photoshoot and video shoot production support. The graphic designer is a self-motivator with discipline and the enthusiasm to get work done. They have the ability to work on high visibility projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Ideate and communicate: participate in creative brainstorm sessions. Create mood boards and present ideas both visually and verbally.
  • Brand stewardship: utilize the brand book and style guide as a north star in all creative assets and brand touch points large and small, internal and external.
  • Design with new ideas in mind: Track the constant trends and changes in the design landscape and develop fresh ways to evolve the brand in a strategic way.
  • Design: own the creation of marketing and web assets across the marketing mix including, but not limited to: landing pages, social media, blog post assets, email, display banners, acquisition offers, marketing inserts, new product launch assets, direct mail pieces, event materials, presentations, and site content. 
  • Production: resize and manipulate imagery as-needed. Bring a big idea to multiple assets across different media formats. Design and prep artwork for production. Coordinate with service bureaus and external production partners.
  • Manage one Graphic Designer and numerous freelance designers

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Visual Communication with 5+ years of experience in an agency or in-house design department.
  • Advanced command of the Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign and Sketch
  • Experience in motion design
  • Advanced understanding of grid systems, typography, illustration and clean design aesthetic.
  • Experience in designing for print and digital promotional and performance marketing assets.
  • Clear understanding of UX and UI principles, and mobile responsive design.
  • Critical thinker:

  • Able to review creative briefs to interpret business objectives to help inform strategic design decisions and visual direction.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with copywriters to develop strong deliverables informed by strategy.
  • Hyper-Organized: Ability to achieve results on time by independently creating efficient processes, while communicating progress along the way. 
  • Time management: 

  • Consistently hits deadlines and able to independently prioritize projects and manage a fast-paced project pipeline and participate in cross-functional workflow
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills to quickly communicate ideas.
  • Resourceful: Able to work independently and figure out what we need and how to get it done on their own.
  • Hard worker:

  • Understanding of role in driving a business and leading a powerful story-telling brand. Positive, self-motivated, and collaborative.
  • Constantly working smart to develop ways to stay efficient and forward thinking.
