We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to help guide the direction of future releases. You will be challenged in an organization that values vision, execution, and persistence. We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to work with the Commerce team to help entrepreneurs start and grow their online businesses. The Extensions team helps small businesses scale by adding functionality to Squarespace with third-party apps. From sales, to store management, to logistics and beyond, Extensions are the most powerful way to provide our customers with critical functionality that allows them to grow their business with flexibility and ease. 

You'll continuously collaborate with product and engineering from discovery to delivery to iteration. Together with your product team, you will own the integration experience for our small businesses and iterate toward the gold standard. This project cuts across all parts of the Squarespace product, and therefore many teams. Without ignoring the implementation details, you're comfortable working with diverse teams, and are excited to set standards and design systems that other designers will need to follow. 

You will report to a Design Lead on the Commerce team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Build end-to-end user experiences

Collaborate with product and engineering teams from concept through delivery and beyond

Help define key metrics in order to track success and business impact

Drive clear team alignment around goals and priorities

Think holistically about the user journey and product ecosystem

Partner with research on testing plans and ways to measure success

Facilitate user research and testing, ensuring usability and product consistency

Love talking to users and looking at data in equal measure

QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years of experience

Deep experience with sketching, wireframes, visual design, and prototyping

Experience facilitating user research and usability testing 

Understand information architecture and service design

Use a systems approach to design

Strong presentation and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor your context to different audiences

Passion for our product and the impact that it has in the world

A portfolio of relevant design work is required for consideration 

Our Product Design team is made up of designers from a variety of backgrounds and we value the diverse perspective this brings; therefore, we do not require a certain degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s) in order to be considered.
