We're hiring a Senior Product Designer.

Our design team is a group of fast-moving, innovative creators who thrive on building beautiful experiences Skimm'rs love. As a member of the design team, you'll envision and create impactful product experiences to educate, inform, and inspire our community.
As a Senior Product Designer, supporting our Events and Campaigns experiences, you'll have the opportunity to shape and create virtual and in-person experiences for theSkimm. You'll bring your expertise in advocating for users' needs by deeply understanding their problems while still working within business and technical constraints. In this role, you'll use your skills to weave typography, illustrations, photography, color, and space into elegant solutions.

How you'll contribute to our mission

• Represent the user and ensure UX integrity while balancing business needs
• From concept through implementation, you will design beautiful and engaging web and email experiences
• Partner closely and collaborate with brand, marketing, editorial, and business stakeholders
• Run user testing, design reviews, brainstorming, and collaboration sessions
• Foster a collaborative process with teams across the organization
• Work with the entire design team to evolve the design system, understanding the value of design patterns and helping to build and maintain a cohesive visual language

You're ready for this! Here's a bit more about what we're looking for

• 4+ years of product design experience
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of design craft
• Understand design systems
• Give feedback with kindness and candor
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Proficient in Figma, Google Suite, Jira, and prototyping tools
• A passion for growth as a designer and sharing design methods, strategies with your team.
• Ability to refine other people's ideas and push the best concept forward
• Keen interest in elevating theSkimm's products and bringing new offerings to life

What about the office?
This is a full-time role with flexibility for remote work. At this time, our office remains closed but it is our goal to open as soon as it can be done safely. We are continuing to closely monitor the state of COVID-19 in NYC and will provide updates to our employees as soon as we have them available.
We will require COVID-19 vaccinations for anyone coming to our office. We are following CDC recommendations and will also require additional boosters, and will always follow CDC and NY state guidance on wearing masks in the office.
