Senior Product Designer
About Stellar Health:
Historically, US Healthcare has relied on a fee-for-service reimbursement system where providers are paid based on the quantity of patient visits and procedures instead of the quality of health outcomes.. Stellar Health helps primary care providers continually engage with their patients by providing them real-time information and tangible action-based incentives for improving quality of care for their patients.
At Stellar Health, we’re simplifying value-based care. The Stellar platform, a cloud-based, point-of-care tool, fits into existing provider workflows and creates a simple checklist of recommended actions that helps deliver the best quality care for patients. We’re building our technology from the ground up, and the industry is starting to take notice.
Our product actively supports over 400K patient lives - and we have shown that we make a real difference for these practices and their patients. It’s an exciting time to join the Stellar Team: We recently raised a $60M Series B at a $460M valuation from Top VCs in the health-tech space (General Atlantic, Point72, & Primary Venture Partners), have an established product & proven operating model, and we’re scaling our team to meet the continued growth and impact on our healthcare system.
About the position:
Stellar Health is looking for a Senior Product Designer to enable our mission of building the most delightful workflow for physicians and staff participating in value-based care, often for the first time. We balance user-centric design to simplify complex business requirements and make participation easy, quick, and accessible to practices who need to focus on patient care, not learning new technology.
As an early member of the design team, you will have a significant personal impact on how design functions at Stellar. You will also be instrumental in how the team evolves and have a significant opportunity for growth, including opportunities to contribute to strategic product decisions. You will also be responsible for building the design roadmap, advocating for the user and synthesizing ambiguous business requirements into workflows. Working cross-functionally with our teams, you will get the opportunity to be an in-house expert for design best practices across the organization.
Reporting to the VP of Product Design, this role will be engaged across the work lifecycle, partnering with teams including engineering, product, operations, sales and any other stakeholders throughout the business. You will focus on design work streams and establishing a design system and pattern library. You will also support basic user research in conjunction with cross-functional execution teams.
To succeed as a Senior Product Designer you should have:
- Enthusiasm for our mission to improve the lives of providers, clinical staff, patients, and the healthcare system
- Formal education in design, UX, HCI or related field; degree preferred
- A proven track record of at least 5 years in experience or UI design
- Work experience with early-stage B2B software or healthcare products
- Flexibility to jump on immediate problems and deliver quick design solutions while developing a longer term design strategy in parallel
- History of delivering clear, scalable and functional designs that convert complex problems to viable solutions
- Deep understanding of User Experience principles, design thinking and the appetite to promote these approaches within the company
- Experience partnering and working in-house within a high-paced, lean startup culture, including comfort with modified agile development methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Mastery of building and evolving design systems
