This position is for Trace’s first in-house product designer with the opportunity to rise to the company’s Creative Director. We are looking for someone who is interested in taking a deep dive into our ecosystem of products in order to understand our subsets of users and their interconnected needs in the adolescent Cannabis industry. We’re looking for someone who has deep industry experience and who does not compromise on precision and delivering an outstanding user experience. This role is for someone who is eager to own the product design for our core native applications, working closely with the product lead to bring to life our core business goals and user needs. This will also include building a digital lexicon for our various web tools, and creating a visual standards and design system for our web products. This role also requires that you be flexible and open to supporting on all design needs including building a set of internal and external templates to holistically bring our brand to life.

Roles and Responsibilities
o Your expertise is in building killer OS, Android native apps with a strong understanding of native tooling and best practices
o You will adopt and enhance the Trace brand style guide, translating it to a series of workable symbols for our digital products and a series of assets and templates for our internal and external communications efforts
o You will work with the development and product teams on a daily basis to iterate on and solve daily technical product needs

The Ideal Candidate
o Has 5+ years of experience in a tech-focused creative role and at least 2 years working for a digital product as it’s product design lead
o Has strong abilities with Sketch, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and at least one prototyping and animation tool such as Principle and/or Lottie
o Enjoys visual animation and can easily translate static wires and designs to elevated, animated motion designs and user experience flows
o Demonstrates exceptional previous work consisting of shipped products which illustrate a strong understanding of software processes and user experience
o Has a drive to understand the user, conduct user testing sessions, A/B test designs, and take a data driven approach to implementing UI/UX adjustments
o Has read and is familiar with all standard best practices such as Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines or Google’s Material Guidelines
o Has a demonstrated expertise with contemporary native and web digital interface conventions
o Is interested in learning new tools, pushing the team forward, and keeping your practices up to date
o Is extremely comfortable working with technical and product stakeholders, iterating rapidly, rapid wireframing, and team communication
o Thoroughly communicates, can articulate ideas well in spoken, written, or visual mediums
o Carries a professional attitude, welcomes new ideas and approaches new tasks with an open and creative mindset
o Is confident with building web products with a focus on mobile-first responsive views
o Has pristine sketch files and a knack for organization and precision
o Has a penchant for Web, UX, branding, iconography, and animation work
o Is technically inclined with an ability to understand lean, iterative development efforts, scaling your design suggestions to meet technical criteria and deadlines while always keeping in mind the best UX
o Is a strong communicator and are able to visually translate ideas with the product team in order to visualize diagrams, workflows, edge cases, wireframes, and prototypes.
o Has strong experience with agile development teams
o Is always focused on the user and proposes creative solutions that challenge and evolve the status quo
o Has a fundamental conceptual understanding of blockchain and decentralized applications
o Is willing to learn and to work with the design challenges of this technology
