If you are a digital storyteller with experience pitching ideas, developing, and creating social videos, then this is the job for you. As a member of the Video Content team, you’ll improve our vision for Animoto’s template portfolio by keeping a finger on the pulse of social video and turning trends into outstanding example videos that our millions of users can modify to make their own.

You will have a direct impact on the success of the Animoto customer. The video templates we create for our customers help them become stronger social media marketers for their own small businesses. Your video expertise will also be crucial to the company as we determine the future of our template and video strategy. Your perspective on video and social media best practices will be important to many facets of the company and crucial to Animoto’s success.

What you'll do:

  • Bring the ‘tude and generate tons of ideas while flexing your visual storytelling muscles to pitch new storyboard ideas that increase engagement on social
  • Write scripts, sketch story ideas, refine copy, shoot content, and edit stories to create new storyboards for different audiences, in different visual styles and moods
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to execute your work
  • Define, set and maintain the standard for quality in our template portfolio
  • Research what resonates with users and their audiences, measure the performance of your work and incorporate data and user research into your decision-making and creative process

What we're looking for:

  • 3-5 years of experience of the entire process at a digital publisher or creative agency
  • Ability to recognize trends occurring on different platforms and communicate changes in strategy based on those trends
  • Strong point of view of what gets engagement on social
  • Exposure to UX Design process
  • Exceptional visual storytelling skills; you know how to captivate viewers
  • Create a large volume of ideas quickly; write crisp copy; shoot beautiful content; edit for brevity and energy; tastefully blend in music to drive deeper emotional connections in your work
  • Have a good sense of color to create moods and the design sensibility to choose the right font and color pallet to enhance the narrative
  • Able to communicate your ideas and the why behind decisions
  • Give and receive important feedback in a small team environment
  • Proficiency in editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Photoshop to edit content

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with hypothesis-driven experimentation 
  • Experience working with dynamically generated video content
  • Experience working in a product company, in an Agile environment
