As part of the new venture’s UX Design team, the Senior UX Designer will have a natural understanding of human behavior and will be passionate about translating this understanding into a delightful and visually appealing product experience for the end user. The Senior UX Designer will have an informed point of view regarding design and consider the end-to-end customer journey, which encompasses both the digital and physical (or offline) aspects of the product experience. 

What You’ll Do:

UI/UX Strategy

  • Leverage ethnographic insights and develop compelling Personas, User-Journeys, and other storytelling frameworks
  • Identify and collect exemplars and articulate their design logic, benefits and tradeoffs
  • Translate strategic design into controls, mechanisms and processes that users require to meet goals in the context of specific features
  • Develop choices around design and user interfaces that allow cross-discipline teams to solve customer pain points and challenges
  • Provide input to branding strategy

Implementation

  • Create design briefs that outline design iterations, prioritized concepts and timelines
  • Develop and prototype low to high fidelity wireframes & visual designs along with the supporting information and content strategy
  • Strategize and execute micro-interactions for app and web flow
  • Construct quick interactive prototypes that illustrate UI/UX design: functional with modern effects, animations, and transitions as appropriate, that present a realistic feel of the intended experience
  • Create style guides, templates, and other helpful frameworks for the design team members based on brand strategy
  • Champion robust testing to ensure design meets user needs
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines
  • What You’ll Bring:

Experience

  • 3-5+ Years of Professional Experience working within both waterfall and Agile/SCRUM methodologies
  • Background in designing within the constraints of heavily regulated industries
  • Knowledge of user-centered design, usability principles and techniques
  • Skilled in information architecture, workflows, concept development and interaction design
  • Expertise in building interactive prototypes and products for websites and mobile apps using modern technologies
  • Experience in translating user research and usability test findings into iterative product solutions
  • Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams of product managers, strategic, visual, and motion designers, and engineers
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work collaboratively and learn and adapt quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Tools

  • Fluency with Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Invision, Figma
  • Familiarity with quick prototyping tools such as InVision/Flinto to more detailed prototyping with Origami/Quartz, Xcode, or tools with similar depth

Education (preferred)

  • BS or MS in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Information Science
  • BS in Computer Science with emphasis on UX development
  • BA in Graphic Design with emphasis on UX design
