Senior Product Designer, Web Presence

You will work with the world’s best developers and designers to work in multiple groups within the web design department. You will report to the Product Design Lead in our New York City headquarters. The team focuses on:
- Evolving the product: We work with other product designers and engineering departments to create visual design paradigms for future iterations of Squarespace
- Prototyping & Building: Look at how web design can be pushed beyond the norm and develop concepts and prototypes to move our platform forward design wise
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design concepts for the platform that are usable, beautiful, and marketable
- Use and understand the platform to identify new opportunities for delivering a better product for our customers
- Improve design solutions within existing system capabilities
- Understand user needs for varying expressibility and create design systems and features to help achieve them
- Develop information architecture and build wireframes
- Design page layouts and interaction methodology
- Design templates and art direction of photography for templates
- Work with developers during build processes
- Work collaboratively with other designers and across multiple teams
- Participate throughout a project’s entire creative process
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in product or web design
- Graphic design skills and a portfolio showcasing web design work and beautiful comps that communicate large concepts
- Experience taking a project from concept to launch with an understanding the process throughout
- Proven ability put yourself in the customer’s shoes and come up with ideas that are relevant and enticing
- Understanding of where your work fits into the bigger picture of our goals
- Affinity for consistency, color, typography, and a keen eye for subtle details
- Knowledge of current trends in design and technology
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, browsers, and devices is a plus
A portfolio of graphic and web design work is required for consideration.
