nTopology is hiring a UX Software Engineer to develop interactive modeling features for our implicit modeling based engineering software. You will focus on developing novel UX paradigms coupling direct graphical geometry interaction with our visual programming based interface. Enabled by our groundbreaking solution for creating and visualizing geometry of unprecedented complexity, you will invent and enhance user experiences for interactively editing such geometry. You will work with a team of computer graphics experts and product designers to research and evaluate UX concepts, turn user stories into clear design specifications and tasks, and implement and maintain them with high quality code.

This role reports to the Engineering Manager, GPU team. Can be based in New York, NY or Remote in the U.S.

What You’ll Do

• Work with product and sales teams to translate customer needs into technical solutions
• Design and implement new UX workflows and interactive 3D components, with a strong focus on truly innovative and seamless manipulation of 3D geometry
• Improve existing UX workflows
• Participate in full software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field, or 3 years of relevant software development experience
• Proven experience developing UI for desktop software using frameworks such as Qt, WPF, or others
• Strong intrinsic drive to continually improve the entire user experience
• Proven experience in C++
• Experience with git or other modern version control systems
• A passion for robust development practices including test-driven development, continuous integration and agile methodologies
• Excited to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

It's a Plus If You Also Have

• Experience in developing UX for computer aided design/manufacturing systems, 3D modeling software, video games, or other interactive 3D applications
• Experience with Qt, WPF, or other frameworks for desktop application UI development
• Experience with graphics programming using OpenGL, WebGL, or other graphics APIs
• Geometry/mathematics for graphics knowledge
